Both facilities are similar in design. The Murphy building is designed for 16 physicians with ancillary facilities, and the Stewart building is designed for eight physicians and ancillary facilities. The unique design features of these buildings are large windows at the ends of waiting rooms (to get as much light as possible into the buildings), efficient provider working patterns with direct entry to outside parking for each provider, healing gardens off the waiting areas and translucent drive-under canopies that are designed to glow at night.
The process from feasibility study to occupancy was about 20 months. The Murphy building is 25,000 square feet and the Stewart building is 12,000 square feet. The project costs excluding land were about $125 per square foot.
