A working pattern is the path from
exam room to exam room a provider follows
while seeing patients.
- The pattern is the core of the planning
module and it affects the arrangement
of all other elements
- The shorter the path, the more efficient
the provider and the more relaxed
he or she will be at the end of
the day
- The nurse must be part of the pattern
and have visual and voice connection
to the exam rooms
- Providers must have short and easy
access to the pattern from their
offices
 | Remote offices for greater provider
privacy
Staff corridor
Tight working pattern providing strong visual and voice connection for the nurse and as few steps as possible for the provider
Nurse station core allows for cross coverage
as well as dictation alcoves isolated to discourage secondary patient encounters
Exams and offices are the same size
which enables interchangeability and
flexible planning
